How do you get the outside tappett blocks out of cases??The book just says press them out do they come out from the top or the bottom??

They come out from the top, Drew.
It's many years since I pulled any out but I seem to recall making a puller which screwed onto the top of the guide.

Got them out ended up using a c clamp a big socket and an old tappett worked like a charm..
