Thanks for replies on Triumph question. I also have a 1965 fully restored Lightning to view. Rode one once a long time ago, bit slower than a Bonnie ? Anyway not many advertised, what to look out for on these beasts and a value on a private sale.

Hi sold a few of them as well . preferred the early models particularly the ,I think, one with the gold tank, def didn't like the grey framed squareish tank models . Th espifire always took my fancy but we were never able get the reliability from them either spark wise or just going bang, best of luck, BobH

I,ve got a 64, and before it went bang (PO did the bearing conversion badly) it was great. They have the same timing side bush problem as our A7/10's and with a square bore/stroke rev a lot harder. The 63-4 had a clutch of their own where the 65+ is the same as the Trihard. A good one down here would fetch $8-10K. I paid $1K for my roughy but it ran after I swapped the battery leads over (+ve).
