Hi, I am a 55 year old BSA fan in Western Canada. I have a few BSA projects, a 53 Super Flash project that I have been piecing together for several years and a 55 Road Rocket, also in pieces. Trying to do it on a reasonable budget so progress is slow. I also have a series BB Gold Star; you guessed it , also in parts. The bikes have been on the back burner for a number of years due to work pressures and all that other stuff , but I am hoping to get something back together with in the next couple of years. The Super Flash is a uphill battle due to it's rarity, but I have enough now to more or less make it a bike . I am missing most of the correct tin for it , but all the important mechanical parts are Super Flash. I am looking forward to this forum, and hope it will help inform and perhaps even motivate me to get a move on with things.

G'day SFGSguy  *welcome*.
You'll find most of your ?'s answered here (some may be tongue in cheek).
You've only got a few months till the snow melts so get cracking in the shed.

Hi Group, I am in the Fraser Valley, South East of Vancouver B.C.. SFGSguy translates to Super Flash Gold Star guy, not very creative I am afraid. Being a A10 group I probably should have used SFRR {Super Flash Road Rocket}. I have been an A 10 fan for almost 30 years now, with the RGS a personal favorite. A friend has one , but I doubt I will find one that fits my budget. I may make a replica one someday with a spare RR engine I have and a very rough Gold Star frame that I bought ages ago {had a sidecar welded to it and thrashed off road} . That's more or less how the RGS was created anyway.  Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to the group. I joined several weeks ago and already had loads of questions answered.

My son normally lives in Whistler, but is currently working during the winter just down the road in Thunder Bay. If I go over this summer to see him in Whistler, I could maybe come say hello.

Regards

Peter

Hi, SFGSguy,

Like you I'm new here, and just like yourself I'm trying to make a very late start on a Super Flash.  Finding parts is needle in haystack stuff, but years ago I did manage to find the correct small tank, (in Canada would you believe!).  So the stuff is definitely still out there.  Now I need some frame repairs and the manufacture of rear guard stays- then I can start a "dry" build before paint and plate. There's a group of guys in the US with these bikes and they've been very helpful - try and contact Barry Porter of the BSAOC in California. I'll try to find an email for him.  Also the BSAOC in the UK will have the factory despatch records for your bike.

I can't help with any spare parts, but I do have some pics of US bikes in various stages of decay to show more clearly what parts go where, if that's any help.

Cheers!
