1958 Super Rocket
« on: 02.10. 2013 17:13 »
I have for sale a genuine 1958 Super Rocket, no rev counter, engine and frame are the same as left the factory, paint work (Red) excellent, chrome good, however acid marks on both silencers. Recent regrind new shells and new rings, starts well and rides well. MOT in September 2013.
Asking £4250.00 for a quick sale.
Note!!  this is not my 1961 Super Rocket with the electric start, I am open to offers on that one but it needs the valve seats replacing, it is running the bottom end and barrels are good, (rebuilt with new pistons and shells just about a 800 miles ago), has been sorned for this year as unable to ride much due to health problems, on the mend now just waiting for a new right hip.
The paint work and chrome are reasonable and mechanically it is sound, twin leading front brake, but will put the original single shoe plate back on, fork stanchions and bushes have been replaced and fitted with Eddy Dow two way dampers, kindly donated by John 1960A10 some time ago, newish rear dampers, and of course the Steve McFarland electric start, but I may remove that and sell it separately, I thought in the region of £5000.00 or without the electric start assy. £4500.00

Looks like the 1958 S/R is sold, hopefully being collected tomorrow.
Might be tempted to keep my 1961 and sell the B25 that Rupert Ratio built for me instead,
