usd fork seals

Hi everyone, just bought a modern Aprilla Falco as an extra to my BSA motor cycles after realiseing changing weeping fork seals on USD front forks is vastley different to my A10 I got a quote from my local garage which was £185 would this be a reasonable price to pay as I know the seals are cheap to buy? Any views would be appreciated.

I haven't done one myself but would imagine it would be a few hours work at $100 per hour = $300 = 188 quid.
I think the main thing is to have someone you trust not to mark/damage bits do the job.

If it's a one person business, to do a decent job, he'll need the seals + about 2 hours to get it done + oil to fill it up so I'm tempted to say that it's a fair price.
But if your local garage is one who employs a couple of mechanics, someone at a reception desk, someone for spares and someone to do bookkeeping/invoicing, then it's even on the cheap side

Hi all Thanks for you comments made me feel a bit better about paying up  so all done now with every thing oil tight.
