Greetings
« on: 16.06. 2013 18:53 »
Hi there. I joined last week and am just signing in to say hello. I'm new to the classic bike world having bought an A10 at the beginning of the month. Why an A10? Well to be honest I wanted something British, made about the time I was born with lots of chrome that I can polish! I could have equally ended up with any other British bike. I'm still doing some research to find out what I've bought. I think it's a Road Rocket but it was first registered in September 1959, so could be a Super Rocket.

I've spent the last two weeks working out how to start and stop the engine, replacing the battery, changing the oil and making sure she's roadworthy. I went for my first ride on her today and couldn't stop grinning! Everything seems to work except the rev counter.

I've been motorcycling for 12 years and commute into London very day on either a Triumph or Ducati depending on the weather.

G'day Paul, welcome to the forum.
Lucky to get a runner, you won't be disappointed, the later models were well sorted.
Do you ride the Duck in the rain and Trihard in the wet? *smile*

Thanks for the welcome. I'll post again when the bike is shiny and I've found out what an Avatar is!

Well, I've tried loading a picture, but only get a ? where the picture should be. Can't undo it. Do I need to have posted a number of times before I earn the right to show a picture? Confused, but I'll figure it out one day, I guess.

Just got back from holiday to find a BSAOC Certificate confirming that my bike is indeed a Super Rocket. It has the same frame and engine numbers it had when it left the factory in July 1959. It's the same colour too, but I wonder how much of the rest of it is original? When I've worked out how to post pictures, I'd be interested in your collective views. Thanks.
