Hello peeps, please can I ask for a word of advice?

The engine rebuild on my 1953 A10 engine is moving forward.  One issue has come up and I'm not sure how to address it.  There is very slight play of the valve rockers on the spindles.  Not huge, but you can apply a back and forth rocking force and see them move.

Is that a big deal and something to worry about?  If so, should I just replace the spindles?

Thoughts appreciated! Many thanks

If you can afford it replace the worn bits otherwise it will be impossible to accurately set the tappets and get a quiet engine.
Why is it worn? Better check that there is an oil feed to the rocker shafts.

G'day Bill.
I agree, replace the shafts and/or the rockers. They make a mess if a shaft breaks.
shafts 67-0064, rockers 67-0266,67-0267, 67-0265, 67-0264 all listed here http://www.hawkshawmotorcycles.com/bsa3.html

Thanks for the advice folks  *good3*  I'll replace the spindles as a starter and see how that tightens things up.
