More help please..... how does my foot brake attach to the pivot as shown in the photo?? Bike is a '54 swinging arm A10

the inside of that pivot should be threaded to take a stud (part no.67-4032)which in turn is threaded both ends. the other end secures the brake pedal with washer, spring washer, and nut. hope that helps  cheers,  Bob.

FYI;
On my '58 swingarm, the pivot looks the same, and sticking out by the same amount, but the end is splined, and so is the inside of the brake pedal. The groove in the pivot is there to pass the clamp bolt, and thus keep the pedal from sliding off if ever it works itself loose.

There are no splines on either the pivot or the inside of the brake lever...
