Off to Keilor Village
this
morning & came upon this beaut 61 Golden Flash...
Owned by a young local lad who restored it with the help of his father...
The father has another A10 project he is working on,
I gave them my phone number & hope they contact me in the future...

I think it was 1st come 1st served in line mate...
those pics dont do it justice, the paint work was the best I've seen on a restored bike..
It had many parts chromed, ( chrome mag & carb did'nt do it for me though )
Other than that it was great.

I spose the chrome carb would be easier to keep clean and they need something to keep that crap material (I can't say its metal!) together.
The chrome mag would be easier to clean the oil stains off. I know it doesn't leak, YET.
Cheers

That's pretty beautiful... but why, oh why, do people overdo the chrome plating... looks so cheap 'n nasty IMHO.
(And it may look okay when it's fresh, but it'll peel off the alloy in no time)

just a guess but maybe it's the type splinned onto the quadrant and it's been moved, maybe the PO didn't like the way it can dig into the back of your leg if it's in the Goldie position, to accommodate rear sets
Now someone might tell me I've got that wrong (Goldie position) don't know never having owned one

Yes Bill I'd say that's what he's done, and he'd want the timing good. At that position I'd doubt if it could reach end of stroke and a backfire would hurt.
Cheers
