It's been well over a year since I rode the Cafe (hip replacement). Even though I drained the carbs (PWK's) they had gum in them so off for an ultrasonic bath. Set the float height to 21mm (the book says 19mm but that's for a carb sitting flat and will flood on an alloy head A10). Bolted them back on, ran on right but not left till I turned the fuel off and after 10 seconds the left chimed in. OK a bit rich that side. Back off and measured the float height and was at the 21mm I set.
I've always been a believer that fuel height is the best way so I set up a jig to put the carb at 15 degrees and measure and adjust to that. I like to have the fuel height as high as I can without flooding. The pic shows it still a bit high so will drop it a mm and go again.
This is also for concentric carbs on an alloy head as if set by the book the float will hit the roof and flood.
