Thought I'd just say hello and tell you a bit about myself. I'm 62 and retired so have plenty of time to mess with and ride my bikes. I have a couple of Royal enfield Bullets, a Norton ES2 and 2 days ago I purchased an A7ss and thats why I'm here.  I've always liked the A10/A7 and have been looking at them for a few years now and the way the prices are going is mind blowing.  Anyway an A7ss came along at the right price.  The bike is very tatty and is painted in a horrible green colour but I've decided to leave it as it is. I'm in the process of rewiring it and will fit an external oil filter, make sure it's safe to ride and get it mot'd.

I'll try not to be a nuisance.

Keith.

Hi Keith, and likewise welcome to the best and most friendly forum around , I don't know what I'd have done without the help and knowledge from the guys here , It always amazies me to be talking to guys who I now think of as friends from all 4 corners of this world of ours who are so helpful ,knowledgeable and don't take themselves to seriously ,after all these wonderful bikes of ours are for fun ,though that sometimes take a lot of hard work to be able enjoy them in the end . Best of luck with your project ,I concur with Musky theA7SS is a smashing Bike ,my first BSA was a '59 which still forms the basis of my present A10 BobH.

Welcome Keith

don't have an A7 myself but two mates have one each, both claim them to be a tad smoother then a 10.

The green colour though has to be  one of the most abused on a bike, I've seen some dreadful attempts at replicating it, I'd think someone here though would know the best match for it

Hi john. Yes that's the one managed to get it for £2300 which included delivery so I'm very pleased at the moment, just hope I don't find anything horrible with it. I must say it starts easy and rides lovely, time will tell.

 Hiya Keith,
I may well be the resident nuisance here so if you can topple that I'll be quite happy *smile*
The green is fine- at least it has colour, tombeau may comment?...(aargh my eyes) it's only an issue if you look at it... Brown, or 'paton ?old thread/ rust' is more to be concerned with>

 Cheers for now, duTch

Hi Keith, I'm new to the forum my self and everyone has been very welcoming. Like I always told my kids (before they knew everything!) there is no such thing as a daft or nuisance question. Nice A7 by the way and well bought.  ;)

Cheers Ian. Not allowed to do too much on it at the moment, SWMBO has got me decorating. I've fitted an external oil filter, rewired it and hopefully stopped a few oil leaks so should be ready for an MOT when the weather improves.  Really enjoying it, great fun.

Keith.
