What's my bike worth?
« on: 23.11. 2012 16:35 »
I'm now ready to take out agreed value road insurance for my nearly finished Golden Flash. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on what monetary value I should place on the bike. I've put some pictures here:

Do you have any favourite UK insurance companies to recommend? Footman James advertise in the BSAOC magazine; any thoughts on them?

Thank you.

Very very nice bike Neil. Well done mate.
Down here I'd be looking at full comprehensive insurance for about 10 grand = 6666.66 pound.
Cheers

I just recently insured my A7 with Peter Best Insurance, they where very helpful and agreed a value of £6000. I think any bike you have built and known for some time is worth more then the average price if the worst was to happen so I based this on the best example dealer/trader prices. Looking at yours I would think it was worth a bit more then mine, rarer and A10's are more popular.

As said elsewhere, I use Peter James who are knowledgeable and helpful as well as being cheap. My agreed value is £4700 for a 1962 Flash, based on photos.

Thanks for the compliments on the sickle and insurance tips.

So far then it's looking like I should consider an insurance valuation of something like £6k. Any advance on that?
