A7 Shooting Star Clutch Springs

 ????Sorry I sent this one to the Pictures by mistake.
Hi all I wonder if anyone can help me with this one? I have been having a bit of trouble with the clutch on my A7 getting into neutral with the engine running so have ordered and received new clutch plates and springs. It is a four spring with six plain and five insert plates, with a needle bearing push rod. The problem I have is that the springs that I received are about a quarter of an inch shorter than the ones that I was going to replace. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks

It will likely help to know the actual length of the springs. Either old or new, your choice. Sounds very possible that the old ones were indeed too long, hence the problem finding neutral.

You say you have a needle bearing push rod , this sounds as if you have an alloy pressure plate in which case you need the deeper spring cups ( correct me if I'm wrong )
(There are two depths of cup that the springs sit in)
Should be able to get them from most dealers
If this is the case you need to tighten the spring sparingly else the clutch will drag.

The spring plate should lift at least 1/8 inch when the clutch lever is pulled in [handlebar]. The plate must also lift evenly. The free length of the springs in my four spring clutch is 1.95 inch. Make certain that the springs are not coil-bound and thus preventing the spring plate from fully lifting.
