[K1100]

Hello to Forum members: I have recently bought a 1954 A10 and in just the past few weeks the forum has been very helpful with answers to questions that have occurred as I get to know the bike. I bought it more or less on a whim, although a'54 A10 was my first big bike after passing my test in 1967. I have ridden it once since buying - a 50 mile trip that identified that it is (a) good fun, (b) seriously in need of attention to the front brake (c) and needs the leaking rocker box sorting, which I am now attempting .... thank you to everyone whose knowledge and experience makes this forum so pleasing.

Welcome. Wow, a 50 mile initial test ride. That's bold. Was the wife following in the pickup truck? Otherwise, was it eight revolutions around a 6-mile ring circuit? 

As a '54 swing-arm, our bikes are similar, as mine is a '55. We are in that narrow realm between plungers and the change to right-side-pull, full-width rear brakes on the swing-arm models.

Regarding this: "(b) seriously in need of attention to the front brake". Do you mean it's working perfectly, but is as expected for a half-width drum, or that it really is failing? Now, another one of these:

 G'day K1100, welcome to the forum.
                                                  Recon the brakes would feel a bit dodgy after getting off a K1100. I find the rear better than the front on my '51. There is a few posts about setting them up properly. Best of luck with it.
