A7 crankshaft needed
« on: 17.05. 2012 16:40 »
Does anyone out there in the UK have an A7 crankshaft for sale ? ( That is, one that is a): useable, not scrap. b): the six-bolt type, and c): NOT an A10 crank with the 84mm stroke.), as I am tired of dead-heads at jumbles telling me that they are all the same, just to get a sale. Roy Bacon's restoration book says they are definitely NOT the same, with the A7 part no 67-383/4 having 72.6mm stroke, so that is what I am going by. Don't mind paying a fair price for a decent one.
Thanks, Norman

Thanks for that, Peter. I have, however, now managed to acquire one ( ......by buying a complete engine on Ebay ! ). Most of the bits are better than some of the parts I already have, so not a bad buy at all. Crank has not had its first re-grind yet, so plenty of life left in it ( it'll probably outlive me, then...).
Thanks once again
