Longstroke A7 camshaft regind

Hi All, does anyone know where I can get a camshaft reground for my 1948 A7 longstroke engine. I have a few of them but they all need regrinding. I'm in Australia and I don't know if there are any places here that are familiar with grinding cams for british bikes. If I have to send overseas for someone that knows what their doing thats ok. Terry, the local rebuild shop sends them away somewhere to get them done but he won't give me a contact, reckons it's trade only. Probably wants his cut. A mate just had a Norton one done and he is very happy with the job.
I have probably 6 of these shafts and the only one that is any good is the one with the part number stamped in the end. All the rest are worn in various degrees. Don't know when BSA started putting the number on the shaft but this one seems to be harder looking at the condition of the lobes. Probably the last of the production.
If you want I can give you details of the local bloke and you can speak to him and maybe send the cam to him. Surely engineering shops in your area have the same contacts.
They reckon you could be looking at $150 or more but if the cams are unprocurable I guess that's a bargain.

It may also need some type of heat treatment if the cams are case hardened. Have you tried to get a new cam?

Terry, some years ago I had a camshaft for a Moto Guzzi metal sprayed and reground here in South Aust, at this stage I cant find the receipt but will keep looking. That camshaft had done a little over 200,000ks when i sold the bike and was showing no signs of wear. So if its done properly they last forever, obviously a lot better than new as the bike had only done 50,000 when the cam wore out. If you have any trouble finding someone to do it let me know and I will ask around and see if I can find out who does them.

Wow , $150 u may as well get anew one. What is the part no. for the camshaft?
a10's = 67-334, 67- 356, 67-357(a little hot)
a7's = 67-695( A7 up to 51')
334= 72pounds(draganfly)
356= 64pounds(")     $112aust = british spares NZ

67-695 in these engines. I haven't found a supplier yet with them. Generally parts for the long stroke A7 engine seem to be drying up.
