...You said that when you tightened up the nut, the camshaft locked up...
Had the same problem:
the place that the camshaft driving pinion 'rest' up agains on the camshaft
was 'lower' than the bronze bushing,
, and the woodruff touched the bushing as well.
(you can see on the pic that I've filed down the end 'pointing' away.)
There was obvious scrape-marks on the pinion
and I has a friend remove a bit (more) material (of cause not right around the hole)
so it would run freely after being tightend up fully.
I thougth that perhaps it was because I
installed a new camshaft (from SRM) that was ever so slightly different in that place.
