I am new to the forum, and i don't own an a7 or a10, But i have owned and worked on many classic and vintage british bikes.
Recently a friend of my fathers bought an A10 gold flash off a popular internet auction site, unseen. My father phoned me and told me his friend was having difficulty getting the bike going because it was tight to kick over. So i went to have a look, and to cut a long story short, i realised it was the timing side bush, so took the engine out and back to my place to rebuild. I stripped the engine and found nothing wrong apart from the bush. It had new pistons, rings, rebore, big end shells, and valves. I turned a new phosphur bronze bush and proceeded to build the engine up. When i refitted the barrels i turned it over by hand and thought, that's wierd the pistons were 1/4" from the top of the bores. Guess what, its got an A7 crank.
So i am on the look out for a decent A10 crank, if anyone in the uk can help out, please let me know.
