chronometric dial and needle wanted
« on: 12.05. 2012 07:51 »
Hi all. Does anyone know a source of new chronometric spares? I'm looking to buy a new dial and needle to improve the appearance of my A10SR speedo, it works perfectly but the printing is very faided and discoloured. I can find lots of people to recondition my unit but no one just to sell the parts, any ideas?
 Thanks in advance. Peter

Most reconditioners should be able to supply these or it would be a crappy job if they couldn't!

I agree Wilko but they all only seem to be interested in overhauling the whole instrument for me!      I'll give David Woods a call as suggested by iansoady.  Thanks, Peter

Hey Pete, I saw some of those(faces) on fleabuy not long ago, some guy in the USofA when I was after info re;speedo ID. I think I just googled in ' Smiths Chronometric Speedo'-can probably dig it from my history if need be.
Not heavily related but will post this link

I think he's the guy I bought my speedo from a while back, but has retired now but interesting site to cruise around. Long story will quit while I'm ahead.

Hi Muskrat,
just chiming in  here re the BSA Vtwin, Yes they made a beautiful ohv 500 model J12 in the early to mid thirties
very rare and sought after now!!!, see here, http://home.planet.nl/~leonhop3/1935_e.html

Still kicking myself that I didnt buy a 750ohv I was offered back in 198?  *sad2*

Also speaking of BSA V twins does anyone know the origins of this ""special"" on fleabay

Looks like someone edited my post  *conf*.
When I wrote japanese I should have wrote J.A.P. as in the motor builder  *smile*
Now that's my sort of Beeza John, got it saved just to watch.
Didn't know about the G12.
Cheers
