Hi Dave, have you seen the 49 plunger longstroke project at Cotswold Classics. Seems cheap enough.

As another Longstroke owner I find this subject very interesting. I would agree with the negatives stated about camshaft and follower wear and overheating. From my research on the history of these engines I see that Bert Hopwood chose not to stretch the capacity to 650cc, and designed a new cylinder head with better air flow. I rebuilt my engine, treat it well and change the oil when it gets black (oil is cheaper to replace than an engine). These engines go well and when I'm on a club run other Beeza owners comment on it's performance. I also understand that post war England had an "Export or die " policy and they are thin on the ground in the home country. Another forum member previously mentioned the low cost of Longstroke parts in AU, this probably is due to being less popular than later engines, and I don't have a problem with that! *smile* Cheers TC

Hi Tomcat how bout some more pics of your longstroke.
Its always good to see them on the road especially the rigid with QD front and back wheels.
My 1947 was on the road until about a month ago when it decided to not want to go into 4th gear so I'm investigating that at the moment.
