gearbox Sprocket - How tight

First time delving into the BSA, I am fitting new chains and sprockets. The gearbox sprocket nut was only finger tight when I removed it - clearly not right. But how tight/what torque should it be? And do i need a special tool - I can only just get a c-spanner on it

A C-spanner and a subsequent blow with a big hammer and a soft drift does the job.
A piece of old secondary chain wrapped around the sprocket and clamped in a vice is great to hold the shaft (with gearbox out of the frame that is).
