Tank question

can anyone identify this tank, its on my custom plunger 1953, had it painted but trying to source tank badges, would they be
big round ones or is it not a BSA tank?, back end fitting, balance pipe underneath at front and single tap at back, no top bolt hole..

Well the top & side view could be from any one of 50 bikes.
BSA made their own tanks and used the same top pressing for dozens of bikes.
Pop a shot of the bottom which was different for most models as it had to clear carbs.
I assume the tang on the back of the tank was something that you added.
If it is original then it is not a BSA tank.
Rear mounts were either 2 ears that located on to the bolts that hold on the rear frame section or holes in the bottom for saddle tans that sat on lugs welded horizontally to the frame.

Front mounts were 2 lugs welded to the sides of the cut out for the frame.

thanks for the reply, rear tang was on the tank when we got it, there isnt a central fixng bolt on the frame.
will post pic of underside tomorrow
