Wanted! A10 Rear Crash Bars...
« on: 21.02. 2007 22:31 »

... the sort that curve round to fit behind the pillion pegs so that the bars will not foul the kick start. Cant describe any better than that. I suppose I could machine/customise ordinary bars that do away with the folding pillion pegs.

Starting to pull my hair out now as I have searched and searched!  *sad2*

Interesting. I don't really know what you are talking about. You wouldn't have a pic of the crashbars would you? I originally thought you where talking about the rear lifts which I have hear old timers speak of as the rear crash bars.  Not that you are an old timer.  Would be interested in a pic. I might of seen or have some and don't know.

I dont have an actual picture of the sort that I want, what I could do though is photograph a practice 22mm copperpipe patten that we made.

My mate and I were going to make our own out of stainless steel and used some copper pipe first. However it proved to be very difficult bending them to shape so we gave up.

Duhh I'm not explaining this very well am I? Hang around and lemme sort something out.

Just wanted to update this request.... Crikey what a load of old waffle I put in them last two postings of this thread! No wonder Pollock had no clue what I was on about. Must had been the cider!

Anyway... I eventually got some crash bars although they were not the proper sort I was after... I got the Britax sort that are Universal and will fit any bike be it BSA or Triumph or .....

Here's a long awaited picture below!

I found they were Okayish riding solo, they looked good... The problem was the Pillion rider was not comfy with them and found the heal of the pillion riders boot rubbed against the swing arm shock absorber bolt.

Eventually later on during the year some proper BSA Crash bars came available and I purchased these taking the Britax ones off. (Now for sale if anyone is interested!) The proper ones are soooo much better and look better. The second pic below shows them... Not a brilliant picture but will update it later.

Sorry about any confusion.... especially as 178 people had looked into this thread!  *red*

I wonder if you could adapt the ones sold for the Royal Enfield Bullet?
