Weren't 389's fitted to Super Rockets while the cast head A10 stayed with 376?

Ok I'll stand corrected- again, just had a look and Parts catalogue 00-5086 for 'Late A10's ' lists a variety of 389's (and 376's);-

 A10                      389/45
 A10     S/R            389/46
 Royal Tourist          389/48
 Spitfire Scrambles  389/47
 A10    S/R             389/47

 Seems some S/R & Spitfire Sc.'s also ran T10 TT9 's , which was what I must've read elsewhere, but what had GP2's..?? RGS..??
 With a 376, it also lists a '500 Flash'   !  - What's one o' them..???

I think mine is a 28mm 1-3/32", can't read the stamp just now.....

Try lifting the float/fuel height a tad (1/32") or 1/2 size richer slide.
, is that for Morris or me or both??
I was thinking to go up a half in slide, float level is about spot on (using Kiwi's method)
Also worth keeping in mind type of air filter with regard to factory settings...?

Big difference with mine is the long inlet tract, but would think that'd help mixture mix better??

Dutch,
The 500 Flash, I think, is the American version of the A7.
10TT9 carby was on the Super Flash, Road Rocket and was listed for the Super Rocket as well as the monobloc.
No GP used on any A10. Used on the '66 Spitfire.

Thanks Trev, wonder what they look like, could 'duck/google' it-(anyone tried https://duckduckgo.com  ??) I s'pose, but never know what's being passed off as original unless it's on here...!!

I had a look at my flange in the daylight- it's a 389/48 from 8/65.

Went to BJ's for a #4 slide but no luck, not even an oldie but I swapped the pilot from a 20 to a 15 (should be ~25 ), went for a blast a couple of miles down the freeway and it seems civilized, just waiting for it to cool and check the plugs

Ok, it's cooled down a few times now....
I ran the 15 pilot, only did about 10 K's, and it seemed to lean up some, brownish on the left tip, but still dark round the outside, and even black rhs.
I been wondering how the thickness of the fibre washers jet block/body ,& jet holder/body would affect the apparent needle setting, so as the one under jet block was already thin, I added the one from the kit, and put a thinner one under the jet holder (external).

Swapped the 15 pilot,(which afforded not much adjustment- almost right in), back to 20, and so far have a similar result as above(Para 1), after a few more k's
Am thinking to try either a new needle and 106 jet or a smaller 105 , or #4 slide but as I don't have them on hand, easiest way to do that is straight from Amal.

Does anyone know easily, the diameter of a Mono slide to suit a 1.125" jet block ?, reason being mine has been sleeved, and not sure if the body was reamed a bit also.......!

I also fettled the points a bit but will mention that elsewhere....and tomorrow will recheck tappets
 Cheers for now, duTch

Thanks Morris, lots of words, but I battled through it, mostly stuff I was aware of, but a few extras.
I did quite a bit of sculpting/whittling in the head, as I noticed one day that the port profiles around the guides was way unequal (more inlet than ex., but can't recall now which side was which, sure I have some notes somewhere), so that was when I bought the dremel and also paid attention to any of those 'IPO' type things, have to double check sometime if I did it right.!!
The only thing I couldn't do much about was right under one of the In. valve seats, is a bit of a hole that needs to be built up, but for the hassle involved figured I'd leave it till need arises- maybe that is contributing to any unevenness...??
As I may have said before, I'm not overly concerned, as it's generally running fine(except for crap in the tank) just happy that I can take it for 'test rides'......but be good to not be running rich...!!!
 Cheers, duTch

PS did anyone find a size for the slide for 1.125" J-Block.??
