Hi all

I purshased my first BSA bike about a year ago now and have since turned it back to original.

Its a 1949 A7 Star twin which was located in an old shed interstate and at the price i couldnt leave it
Was not bad condition however has not been used for a few years.
Started first time fine and had had fair bit of work done already.

Have since had new mufflers and seats made and bike has been stripped and re painted in original star twin colours.

have added some pics.. it shows before and after but will have to put up a finished pic as currently havent got one on this computer

cheers

Duane

Hi Duane,

Really nice bike - and good job!

I only bought my own (relatively new) bike earlier this year (June) and I'm just gearing up to get stuck into the engine - frame and tinware are pretty much OK but quite a bit to do on engine nand clutch methinks. I hope I can do half as good a job as it seems you've done!

This is a really good forum with knowledgeable and friendly members - make the most of them!

Triumph Bonneville - long gone (sadly)
AJS 16MS - keeps coming back (thank goodness)
BSA B31 - also long gone
Greeves 250 twin (good fun)
Francis Barnett 197 (first bike)

Hi Duane, its good to have yet another Star Twin owner onboard. The bikes looking good, there great bikes.

I'm not too far from you being down in Mt Gambier and also have a Star Twin, mines a 1950. I've only done a couple of thousand miles on mine so far (too many other bikes to ride) but they go well and are nice to ride.

The forum is a great way to get info and keep in touch with owners of similar machines, I am sure you will enjoy being a member.

Balhannah is only a week away, might find some "treasures".

Brian.
