Are these two bikes compatible
« on: 09.08. 2010 20:04 »
Hi,  *smile*could enybody give me some advice about the compatiblity of parts please, various parts r available from a 1951 A10 Golden Flash frame no: BA7.8.111** and engine no ZA10 145, and I have a 1953 650 Golden Flash Frame no BA 10 476* and Engine No BA 75677*, I have obviously left the last digits off for security reasons. I require most parts including tank suspension, both plungers, wheels, tool box oil tank etc etc, If they are compatible for my reference cud u please tell me how u reached that conclusion . I look forward to any help, many thanks.

 ;)

G'day bikemadinspain,
basically the same. A few differences but not major. I bent my '51 frame so put everything onto a '53 frame. Your '53 GF frame # should be BA7 ####. I think the front hub and fork sliders are different but will swap over as a whole. Tank badges are diff and the "53 should have a narcell over the headlight. Others here will be more precise.
Cheers

Check that frame number. If it is really BA10 then it is a Super Flash frame.
Easily identifiable because of the kinked down tube under the seat.

Good one Trev, I forgot the SF in '53 & '54 the only years the A10 had an A10 frame. Don't think I've seen one.

Hi. I think you may have the engine and frame numbers the wrong way round, that would make them both correct for a 1953 A10 plunger (the frame number series is actually 'BA7S' and not '5' a common mistake with the often poorly stamped factory numbers.  Its a pity that its not a A10SF as you would have something rare and desirable.   Regards, Peter.
ps. you will have to outbid me on ebay first!

Just looked at the engine # of the '53, could it be BA7S 677* meaning an A7 motor fitted. Count the fins on the barrels.
Cheers
