What is a petrol tank worth

I have just had an A10 tank repaired to the point that I can now chrome it.  The cost was $300 AUS.  For interest, it will cost $350 AUS to have it chromed.  I have another tank in the same condition, which again will cost $300 to repair, and was wondering what this tank was worth here in Australia.

Russ I have just paid $800 for an excellent chromed tank for my Road Rocket. I figured that by the time I bought a reasonable one, then had it repaired then had it chromed it would cost me more than that. I know of a NOS Super Rocket tank for $1500. I didn't want to run the risk of an Indian tank either.

That gives me an idea of what it is worth.  I am going to finish the tank I have for my bike before I put the other one up for sale.  Just in case!
