Difficulty starting when cold is usually mixture. If you think you might be flooding it, try starting with an open throttle. If too weak, use more choke and tickle until fuel drips out of the carb.

Yes mine starts better cold or hot after a tickle...then she likes at least quarter throttle and varoom she's off and away. No choke fitted as generally warmer here in Aus.  Also runs best on 91 Ron cheapest sh!te unleaded no ethanol, 95 or 98 octane no sir'ee

Well I finally solved my starting marathon and CB you were right, it was Mag issues. My Mag was refurbished in 2021 and was never used to my knowledge until I purchased the bike a year ago. During my efforts to resolve the starting and after your comments I checked the strength of the spark and compared to my A7SS it was mickey mouse. But as when it very occasionally started and ran, I thought well it runs fine and I have driven it 10 miles. No suspicion.

So I contacted APL Magnetos Ltd who did the Mag resto and they suggested that due to possible the points being closed I should clean them, maybe they were corroded. So that's what I did, reset them and now she starts 4th kick from cold  *beer* Hallelujah *thanks*
