Can anyone tell me if the triumph 8" twin leading brake unit will fit in my 1963 a10 front end with 8" full width cast iron hub.
Cheers

Not sure if this is a Triumph 2LS. I'm sure there are experts who can help.

the TLS brake plate won't just fit your 8" FW hub, but the whole TLS hub ( and/or wheel) probably will, but not plug and play. you are probably aware of the locating lug needing fixing for the a10 forks, possibly spacers, and the possibly different spindle lengths (depending on the donor's year). i went mad over spinlde differencs and posted a summary here:

there are plenty of other relevant thread to search.
its worth the effort

I too was driven mad by spindle lengths.  Given that BSA and Triumph were one company how could they make so many variations of fork slider, spindle and brake plate?

Use the 1969/70 brake plate nut rather than the A10 item with thenTLS.

The 1969/70 has a smaller hex  (1 1/8 AF) than the A10 nut and allows the use of an 1 1/8 AF ring spanner or a deep socket. The A10 item is larger across flats and  (11/16 whitworth size)not enought clearance for a ring in the recess on the brake plate.

Agreed.  But if all else fails you can do the nut up by clamping the wheel spindle in one slider, holding the brake on with the lever and turning the wheel.
Not that I did that, no of course not...

I think i put a spacer/large galv washer under the nut to get reach of it. Worked fine. My guess Tom has many bigger challenges first, and it usually comes down to which tls setup can be acquired in the first place. Spindles and retaining nuts can be swapped later
