Convair XF2Y-1 Sea Dart seaplane jet fighter prototype 137634 coming ashore. It is the only seaplane to have exceeded the speed of sound. Kinda has a James Bond feel to it - surprised it was never in a 007 movie! The four surviving planes were retired in 1957, but some were kept in reserve until 1962.

Not much of a behemoth in reality. Fitted to the sharp end of County Class Destroyers (among others) where they were always disparagingly referred to as "the dog's dick missiles"
