Funny how hospitals don't seem to have any motorcycle spaces and it seems a shame to occupy a car one when space is limited.
It's just a matter of timing it before the special uplift arrives. Now that would be a rubbish end to the day.

It is not just hospitals, try finding motorcycle parking places in Buxton. There is a tiny space outside the old Hall hotel but that is all I have found.

And people moan about where motorcycles are parked

The Buxton near the cat and fiddle distillery? Don't whatever you do park there, I copped a 100 quid ticket for parking in their “private” car park for 14 minutes, they have ANPR cameras that take yr number plate, and they send you (or more accurately the vehicles registered owner) a payment demand in the post.

Needless to say I asked them politely to put their “parking ticket” where the sun doesn’t shine.

Pretty much the distillery insists you buy something from their tourist type shop, and if you don’t want anything (or the queue to get served is too long) you get a ticket in the post. It's a rort.

The bikes that go there (it’s a great biking road) park on the road outside the distillery, for good reason.

ANPR cameras used by private companies is a step too far in my opinion, I hope they don’t start appearing in NZ.

No not the distillery but the town itself. I had not heard about the parking at the cat and fiddle.  When I was much younger we used to ride up the the Cat and Fiddle just to enjoy the bends, have a drink then enjoy them again. Now that road is covered by average speed cameras not much fun when you have to check your Speed all the time.

ANPR cameras are a pain. They do not differentiate between cars and bikes.  If you do not see the signs then you are stuffed as soon as you enter the car park even if you turn around and leave straight away.

Nearby Matlock Bath is one large motorcycle park; at least, that was what it looked like the last time I was there👍

Originally built in the early 18th century, Matlock Bath has been attracting flocks of bikers for decades. Every Sunday in the summer more than 3,000 visit the small, picturesque town.

I did those bends in 2019, on my last trip to uk. From memory the ANPR average speed cameras were set at 50mph, which was ok if you never exceeded 50mph even on the straights and tried to maintain 50mph around ALL the bends 😆

Alternatively you could do 40mph on the straights and 60mph around the bends  *woo*

For the cat and fiddle distillery the car park is just another income stream, deliberately arranged to con people out of a 100 quid….it’s sad the government gives access to the govt car/address database to privately owned companies, and therefore allow that sort of rort to carry on.

I drove nearly over 4000 miles around the uk in april/may just gone and I am somewhat amazed not to get other letters in the post about speeding, parking, no right turns, one way streets, restricted access streets you name it! Cameras everywhere…the computers police the roads not the actual police was my impression.

I did my best to keep to the speed limits but in 20 miles you might get a dozen different speed limit signs and all it takes is to miss one sign and zoom past the camera and you get a “letter”.

I've started going to the Peak View Tearooms http://peakviewtearooms.co.uk/ It's just a few hundred yards from the C&F. It gets busy but at least you don't pay just to go onto the car park.
There's another cafe at the Swains Centre in Harpur Hill at the Buxton end of the C&F road, part of the go kart track. Was shut during Covid but has started openning again at certain times.

Just to mention, on my return from my 350m round trip to mid-Wales, I returned through Matlock Bath (like an inland seaside town) and Buxton.  I got lost around Chesterfield and came out on the A61 just down the road from Bergs (came down from the Walton hospital end??).  As it rained heavily for some of the journey there and back, I took the Kwaka and some very, very good waterproofs (bone dry throughout).  Still very enjoyable but not quite as good as pleasantly warm sunshine!!

How has it happened that bikers have forgotten how to angle park? Nose in towards the curb is all wrong and always has been.

Thought this might be good to see. It's my 'Home' Village, Farningham Kent. (Though I've been a true-Blue Aussie for 50 years)
No dopey nose-in angle parking here!

Thanks to 'Classic Bike' Feb 2023 magazine for the photo.
