RGS tank badges
« on: 08.04. 2023 22:26 »
I always thought the RGS tank badges were red and gold. The gold to represent the original gold star won at Brooklands by the Empire Star. However I have also seen the backing in silver. Anybody know the reason for this?

Probably pattern parts to their usual standard.

Original badges were colour coded to the tank in the first year or so
Then they revert to either red or black which are the only two colours available
It is a standard practice that BSA has been doing since the 1936 redesign across the entire product range
So the big 4" star came in red, black or green
And weather you got the big badge or not depends upon which tank got fitted , weather it was a UK model, a general export model a USA east or West coast model .
