Ebays shipping program
« on: 21.03. 2023 01:52 »
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the springy anti-unscrewing device clip thing on my carb is missing.
I looked for one on ebay, about £6.00 which i could live with but £40 p&p not likely, I'll make something when I get 10 minutes.

Oh yes - you need that clip. Almost guaranteed to unscrew over time without it I'd say.
£40 P&P!!?? - someone's having a joke. It would go in a first class letter for a quid!

The £40 is probably ebay's new postage system. I've found several sellers using it, where £3 P&P suddenly jumps to £30 or more at checkout. Needless to say, I empty the basket and go elsewhere. Beware ebay's Global Shipping.

Well done having the issue sorted.
ebay's latest global shipping program is absolute theivery. Recently tried to purchase an item I had previously shipped by Royal Mail so the item was 17 pounds but shipping had gone to 36 pounds instead of 6, then to add insult to injury they add customs clearing charge even though not applicable for motorcycles over 25 years old. Makes finding spares a bit of a problem and these suppliers cannot opt out of the global shipping once they have joined in.
Draganfly have very good shipping rates but they don't have everything I need unfortunately.

G'day Fellas.
I thought this needed it's own topic.
Yes their gouging with the p&p.I try not to purchase anything that is being shipped through them. Browsing Ebay and looking at the postage scares me off most items. I was going to buy a nice set of cases from the US for $150 but the postage was $350  *eek*
Cheers

Usually if you ask the vendor to sent it vai the post, most will be happy to do so
Particularly if you tell them to email you with the postage cost and you will send that to them as a direct paypal payment.
I get stuff regularly sent to me like that
Piston rings for chainsaw from Italy are also $ 333 via ebays shipping programe and $ 17 via normal snail mail ( up to 11 sets )

Sent a couple of old ATDs off to Israel and America recently.  GSP charged them both around £30 for postage, that's on top of the UK postage they paid me to get it to the GSP hub in Lichfield. *eek*

Got stung once by buying a kickstart pinion from the States - wasn't warned in advance of how much the charges would be and paid £27 for the wrong item.  Had to send it back and got a refund, but wasn't happy with being so much out of pocket.  Happy to buy from China though, although it takes a long, long time for stuff to arrive.
