Brand new Electronic ignition shaft stiff
« on: 02.02. 2023 13:05 »
Hi guys. I bought a brand new electronic ignition kit but the shaft is very stiff. When the cog is turned by the engine, the weights will move out and I guess the ignition will be set advanced frm the first kick.
Does anyone have experience like this? Will it loosen as soon as I get it running, if I can get it running?
I got the vape 12v ignition replacement kit from feked.

Vape ignition doesn’t involve weights.

If you are (wrongly) using an auto advance magneto pinion to drive one if these:

then a spindle that is stiff to turn will prevent or impede the auto advance weights from moving out.

Yeah, as soon as the engine is kicked, it'll automatically move to fully advanced as the shaft is dragging it.best I get the plain cog I reckon.

You’ve got that backwards, but you do need a solid wheel.

Oh ok, I was a professional gambler most of my life and I can't even hit a 50/50 chance anymore. Haha
Thanks for the advice, I'll order one.
Cheers
