Conrod query
« on: 02.01. 2023 17:00 »
In my quest to identify possible sources of parts should I proceed with another engine design, conrods have been my latest search.
It's something I really want to avoid having to make if at all possible, so have been narrowing down likely contenders.
Need around 6 1/4" centres - don't really want to go to 6 1/2" unless I have to, but could accommodate 6" by the dreaded oval flywheel dodge.
Now, apparently A7 and A50 / 65 are both 6" centres.
So my question is, are they the same rod or do they differ and, if so, in what respect?
Thanks,

Hi RD
As far as I know the A7 rods are small journal size and have a smaller gudgeon pin size than A65

G'day RD.
Yes John is 100% correct. All A7's from 51 on are 6", small journal and small little end. A50's have lge journal. Not 100% sure of the length and little end.
Cheers
