I hope you are not in the same boat as me. On my 1950 T100 the intermediate gear fell of whilst changing the magneto  *sad2*. I have put it back with all the marks lining up but that gives me suck, blow, squeeze, nothing  *help*. So having found info by a certain ‘Triton Thrasher’ (is that you TT) on a triumph forum I am currently getting a degree wheel to do it all with that  *work*.

I suppose it must be me.

If it was previously timed on other keyways, the marks are no good unless you put the camwheels onto the standard keyways.

Hi JHG and All,
I think I have found the issue *????*
The instructions say to fit the unit for anti clockwise rotation for BSA twins
BUT  *ex* They are referring to A50/65 where the unit is on the other side of the bike and rotating anti clock looking in from the RHS
On the A10 the magneto / ign unit rotates anti clock looking from the RHS
So
When looking at the ignition from the primary (left) side the igniton rotor is turning clockwise (opposite to A65)
So re time the engine using the clockwise position on the ignition unit

John

I changed the timing mark to clockwise and it started third kick.  Ticking over nicely although not very good inside the garage. Many thanks for the guidance.  I owe you big time. Sadly, I finished this bike last spring but put it to one side after kicking it over and over to no result.

I have lots to do now.  I noticed that the throttle cable is not routed correctly as it revs up on full lock.  I think I will leave a test ride until the weather get better.

The hardest task it to refit the tool box cover without cracking the paint on the hinges as I bend them back.
