I like the, "...at any moment that you tire of it" and that they thought it was elegant to use a "K" in cone.

Their is a modern Kemper guitar amp company who uses the term "kone" speaker, but I don't believe they could be related. Oddly, theyxre here in Chicago. The quick search didn't turn up another "kone" speaker.

That was interesting. Googled it.

"A new BSA company was formed under the name of BSA Radio Ltd - the company to market the new BSA products. The head offices of BSA Radio Ltd was at Small Heath, Birmingham. Mr J. W. Bryan who was the publicity manager, and who was closely connected with the company's sales departments, was in charge of all matters relating to the sales of BSA Radio"

Models & a few pictures:

Then this. Look at those superb catalog designs!

ps, I used to collect old radios, sold most but kept some nice ones from the 30's.
Will look for some photos one day.

Remember what the A in BSA stands for ?
BSA made most of ther profits by supplying stuff to the War Office
So naturally when they diversified they did so into industries that were strageic should WWIII break out
In fact if you look at the BSA boards decisions it becomes very apparent they were inded tooling up for the USA-Russia war that we all knew was about to happen at any moment
SO BSA Made radios, boilers , gun steel, tools ambullances, trucks, cars , motorcycles, metal pressings, pipe, aal things that become very necessary during hostilities .
At one time BSA also was going to make air craft and they bought a company AirCo to do just that post WWI
Unfortunately AirCo had pocketed all the money that the government had paid them fr supplying aircraft  but not paid any of their suppliers thus it was worse than bankruped when BSA bought it
The entire BSA/Triump/Damiler/Carbodies/Jessops was by fa the UK's largest manufacturing enterprise by a very long way .

Wolverhampton  outfit AJS also diversified into Radios, and for a while also made cars. The company history makes interesting reading. But as always, got swallowed by the bigger fish as the market changed.

Ted,

That's a great find and very interesting, to me, at least, having worked for a major loudspeaker manufacturer (Cerwin-Vega) for about 13 years. Haven't seen it in any of my books.
