Fitting a side stand on a 'Pogo stick' A7 ?
« on: 09.04. 2023 15:26 »
OK.  I said I'd give you the weekend off.   But . . .
I'm smart enough to disable the old center stand.  Especially because my pipe is smooth, before they had teeth for a better lock.  Lots of horror stories about the stand shooting down when the bike hit a bump.

I bought a generic, made-in-the-UK side stand.  There's no way it fits with the exhaust pipe where it is. No way to get the angle right.  I'm a good metal worker.  Do I make an add-on sub-frame that's a bit lower to clamp on to?   A better option seems to be cutting the metal between the clamp and the pivot shaft and doing an off-set weld.

I know that a few of you have figured this one out.

Don't know if this helps. Picture of a genuinuine NOS sidestand on my Plunger A10. The frame has a permanent pivot lug on the bottom tube.

Hi Brandis,
Have a look for an A65 aftermarket side stand weld on lug
They have a U shaped piece that you fit around the tube and weld / braze in place
