Magneto Cutout Brush
« on: 03.06. 2022 03:37 »
Hi I have bought a new repro points end cover but the cut out does not seem to work. If I do continuity between the wire pickup and the carbon brush on the inside of the cap there is nothing. I do get continuity to the brass tangs on the inside so for some reason the carbon brush is not making a connection . Can the brush be removed and replaced and if so how.

Unfortunately, these units supplied by 'You know Who' have cut out brushes which are glued into the holder with glue which is non-conductive.........  Grrrr!!

Could this be a use for conductive paint to bridge between the brush and its mounting bracket?
