vee twin - again
« on: 18.02. 2022 18:20 »
Was looking through some old pics re crankshafts and saw this pic of the 1,000cc vee engine in its early states of build (before the nightmares!). Had forgotten how compact it was / is.

G'day RD.
Is that/was a plunger clutch modified to belt?
Got me thinking of my plunger rebuild. I love the belt primary in the Cafe.
Cheers

Musky - yes indeed. Just looked through my early pics of the project but can't find any of the mod. Although it's some time ago now, I don't recall taking any of the clutch mod. I can say it was relatively extensive, as it employs a new backplate and a narrow but large(ish) diameter ballrace. Basically I took a plunger clutch basket and riveted it into a belt pulley which, in turn, is attached to the ballrace/backplate by small allen screws.
