Hello and Intro
« on: 21.10. 2021 11:11 »
Hi,

I am in Bristol UK and have just bought a 1954/61 A10 built up as an RGS replica.

Just getting to know it and wanting to sort a few non original bits out now - instruments (the cost!  *eek*) and horn (also not cheap!) being the two main items.
Would like a sidestand too but this appears more difficult than expected to achieve.

Have taken off the clip ons and put on some standard bars. The rearsets are on trial until I have done a few more miles.

Previously have owned a few BSAs, in order,
B31 (all original £18),
1960 A7SS (immaculate, ate cam followers, learned a lot!)
1953 plunger Gold Flash (came with a chair, bought from a young lady)

I am much older now ( ! ) but still love the sound of a BSA vertical twin!

Great Forum  *good3*

A good looking bike, Meldrew.

I replaced the clip-ons on mine by standard bars and left the rear sets. I’ve no complaints about the riding position.

For clocks I went to Russel Smally at Chronometrics.co.uk, for a genuine refurbished Altette horn it was to Taff the Horns. Only good things to say about both.

For other bits Priory Magnetos (Andrew) has helped a lot at sensible prices.

Hope you enjoy your new ride.
