Which fork oil when using two way damping

Ok which fork oil do people use when using the two way dampimg rods and progressive springs. Its on a A7SS 1960.

Hi Andy,
I am using 10 weight,
To work the damper valves need to be under the oil level, so the quantity is not as in the manual

G'day Andy.
It's a personal preference thing. I don't have progressive springs. I use 20wt on the road but used 30wt on the track. I like it firm.

Years ago I used used the standard oil and it was too stiff so the 10wt looks favourite I have got progressive springs, which to be quite honest I never noticed any difference .
I will probably go for 200ml per leg .

I use ATF cos that what I got and works good for me

I'm not sure it matters too much as most of the oil will either leak out or be displaced by rain water by the sounds of some of these other fork seal threads I've been reading.

True I'm not expecting to find much in there when I change it

Drilling a small hole (1/8 or a little bigger) just above the seal in the seal holder so as the hole is at the lowest point when the seal holder is screwed down tight (in other words at the rear) will alleviate most (if not all) of the water getting in to the forks, it is a bit tricky just to where to drill the hole, it is probably best to work out where to drill the hole when the seal holder is off.
I had no problems with water getting in after doing this

I have dampers on 2+bikes. The 65 A65 has 10W fork oil, stil a touch harsh for me. The 56 DB has 7.5W shock oil and is nice, very nice.
