12 volt battery to 6 volt

 I have a new 12 volt battery  but want to convert it to 6 volt 13 amp on my A10 as I dont want to buy another 6 volt battery  . I notice the adapters for sale online only have a 5 amp output max .  I wonder is it possible to do ?

      Sounds like a wild goose chase and a hiding to nothing.. If the bike is 6volt, it needs a 6 volt battery. 12 volt battery plus a series resistor will drop the output voltage to 6 volts to run existing lights etc, but the bike charging system needs to be disconnected. Easier to change the bulbs to 12 volt, disconnect the dynamo and recharge the 12volt battery at home. All a bit strange, a new one on me.

Fit a DVR2 regulator and the bike will charge the 12V battery to 12V.

Then fit 12V bulbs in the lights.

I think the electronic voltage stepping devices waste about 20% of the power that goes through them.

the difference in price between most of the above options and a new 6-volt battery is negligible (or even less than) so unless you intend to do a lot of night riding or want electronic ignition I would stick with 6 volts and a new 6 volt battery

 I guess better to get a new 6 volt battery the charging could be effected .
