Hi to everyone,

I have been reading with interest the forum for 6mths.

I have a 1952 A10 GF that I am hoping to ride regularly... been out twice in 6mths; first trip lasted 10min and ended with a hydraulic lock, no damage done... second time out resulted in a 3hr push home (mostly up hill), P.O's tank clean(?) and new fuel taps proved to be a little exaggerated, carby and tank now clean and another set of new taps.

The bike is not a rivet counters dream, with modern fasteners used in most non engine assembly work, I have all of the anticipated oil leaks (goes to character) but I'm in love and so they are forgiven.

Thank you for the tyre pressure warning, the upcoming 3 trip could have been interesting!

Hi there Darren... Nice of you to join us!

Hope you will soon get into riding the A10 more, expect maybe another few more snags with the bike untill you really get to know her. How's the magneto? has the bike been standing long before you got it??

I'm wondering about the hydrolic lock you mention was this due to the bike having badly wet sumped? Anyway I'm sure you've read that the more you ride the bike the less likelyhood of problems in that area.

Thank you for the welcome,

After my unexpected stop I drained nearly 600ml from the sump and oil tank, I then gave her a kick or 2 and she burst into life.
The magneto was rebuilt by P.O and then left sitting for close to 12mths, my current problem is a lack of spark, the fuel issues resulted in the mag being drowned and a high tension lead brush droppping off (into mag).
