Machine Shops

Folks,

Crankshaft grinding and cylinder relining is looming for my Huntmaster. I'm looking at SRM for machining, pistons, a camshaft and all the other bits.

What other machine shops & suppliers can you recommend?

From the other side of the world I'd say SRM for it all in one place. Re-lineing barrels is VERY important to get square and true. (ha I do my own)
Locals may say otherwise.

T and L (just south of Bedford) have done good work for me.

I use Hurley Engine Services in Bath, they are very convenient for me, responsive and interested in old motors. Paul Hurley takes a personal interest in the work. A bit far for you to drive however.

T+L are much closer at hand for you in Norfolk. At T + L you tend to deal with the machinist directly. I have used Derek with good results, but its some time ago.

Hi Guys,
I actually now own a company in Downton Salisbury called Formhalls Vintage Engineering    http://www.formhalls.com/   
It was setup many moons ago by a good friend of mine Terry Formhalls, and now we have taken over ownership, although Terry is still with us.  (Terry was a serious grass track racer in his youth so loves bikes)
If any of you would like to be looked after by us, we can do anything your bikes would wish for in the engine department and if you speak to Evie or Charlie and tell them Julian sent you then you will be more than well looked after.
