No excuse
« on: 03.09. 2018 12:00 »
I had no real reason to post these pix other than we (my good lady) went for a lovely ride on the bike this weekend.
I took some pix and thought I'd share some lovely English summer views.
I was showing these to a mate and he said of the shots of the bike and the village Cricket scene all it needed was a Spitfire overhead.
And funnily enough, while we were riding we saw a Spitfire flying over. (In Kent where we live we see Spitfires pretty regularly)  ;)

Thanks, TD

Caple Le Ferne is about 40 mins away from me, and Biggin hill is about the same too.
This is a little video of a Biggin Hill Spit at Caple Le Ferne I made last year on Battle of Britain Day

Also some pix of the Spitfires at Biggin they do two-seater trips for those with deep pockets

My deepest respect and admiration for the guys saving\maintaining\restoring these machines, and even succeeding in making them safe to fly !

...Spitfires at Biggin they do two-seater trips for those with deep pockets
My lucky son of a gun brother-in-law was treated to this for his 70th birthday. I'm living in hopes that my family are saving up for my flight in 18 months time!

Erlin, the BBMF actually have a spitfire that saw combat during the Battle of Britain in 1940 , not surprisingly its the oldest example still airworthy although the one Guy Martin was involved with and is now flying saw cambat during the Dunkirk evacuation .
Tlmark   i totally agree there is something about the Spitfire    *respect* ,beautiful thing ,I'd love to visit Biggin on the bump and as to flying in one I nearly got there 10 yrs ago, Son was flush and put me down for a flight in the " Grace" spitfire just before I was top of the list it developed a cracked crank and that was that by the time it was operating again the bugger was skint !
finally how about ,with "e"s permission you posting that again on BOB day to few ( no pun ) people even know of the days significance ?
