Do you know this SR? (South Australia)
« on: 03.07. 2018 22:49 »
Morning all,
I am a Mexican (ie A65 owner) who intends to step away from the dark side and add an A10 to the shed.

I have started to make inquiries into what looks to be a very neat 1958 SR however the current owner does not have any information regarding the restoration.  For the asking price ($13K), I want to be sure that the oil pump, valves and main bearing (at least) were upgraded as part of the restoration.  To make things more difficult, I am located 3000km from the bike.

Aside from the poor photo (attached) what I know at this stage is:
It was restored about 5 years ago (maybe longer, the current owner's memory is not great)
The former owner was "a Beesa nut who lived south of Adelaide...maybe Trott Park"
The FO (possibly 'Rob') was selling the bike possibly due to a marriage break up.
The current owner 'David' lives in Wirrabarra, in the north of South Australia.
The bike is single carb, points ignition.
It has a Honda spin-on oil filter but this may have been added by the current owner...otherwise stock.
Tacho does not work.

While this info is a bit thin, I am hoping that this may jog the memory of someone in the South Australia Beesa community.  I have some more info coming and will update.

G'day UncleD,  *welcome* I'd say your the first Territorian to join the forum.
I think the only forum member in SA is Brian.
The bike looks good in the picture. $13K would be a premium price and like you would want proof of parts replaced/repaired and work done.
While the power eggs are a bit more powerful they don't have the cred of an A10.
Cheers
