Lucas brake light switch on a 1953 BSA A7 plunger

I have a problem with this switch. Should it be fitted with just one clip on the lower frame tube?
I  purchased the used switch online and it was just the switch not the fitting details, as I see it they will be easy to make.

Mine is attached with one 'P' clip. There will not be much force put on the switch so should be fine. I'm away from home until tomorrow; if you want a picture of my switch after that, just ask.

some movement is desirable as the foot brake pedal moves in a slight arc, can be a fiddle to get right

This is how I've attached the brake switch on my '55 Plunger. I made a stainless steel 'P' clip for the switch. I chose not to use the normal spring as the operating connection as I couldn't see any point and it looks ugly. I've used a piece of thin brazing rod which is held on the brake rod with a small aluminium 'P' clip, (designed for clipping cables to walls but bent to a P). I hope this helps.

It's been on there for five years without any trouble. The rod has the additional feature of pushing the switch back as well as pulling it. (I guess a coil-bound spring would do that)

Now my switch is in place! It is made by the OEM-company and stamped 3  53 and 31281, Lucas and made in England. I´m of course very proud to be the happy owner.

That looks just like the BSA drawing.  (Except not exploded, natch)
