Aftermarket A7/A10 cam followers
« on: 29.12. 2017 15:06 »
I've noticed several UK suppliers selling reproduction lifters (67-0332/0333).  Has anyone tried these?  Any details on the heat treating?  Stellite tips?
The other option in the US are reground sets sold with a core exchange.
Any comments?

Hi,
I only have experience of SRM reconditioned followers these are built up with proper hard material and ground to original dimensions
I have run these for 25+k miles without problems and have fitted them to several more engines I rebuilt

I would not risk "pattern" followers *????* as the consequences of failure will wreck the engine

G'day BT.
I agree with John. New SRM jobbies are the first choice.
Failing that your old set could be ground and stellited to the correct length.
Cheers

I also agree - go form SRM top quality - fitted set in 2009 done many many miles no problems.

Choose poor quality and they wear quickly.

Make sure at least 14 parts per million of Zinc, especially on the Rocket motors with dual valve springs, that is a lot of pressure on the cam and cam followers.
