Hello David
No chance for fixing the engine?
Have you tried at Pius Kaufmann? He has really lots of spare parts, but I am not sure, if will sell them... he's a bit of a hoarder.
And there is Henry Hässig from britishparts.ch (Flawil), he might be of some help. Or Marcel Baschung (classic-bikes) in Niederbipp. These two I know...
Other adresses are eicher-classic.ch in Unterägeri, Richard Zürcher (british bike service) in Neuheim, ZG, but I do not know them.
God luck!

There a complete engine on eBay just now.
CA10 so older iron head model
eBay item number 182499943245
It's in France so probably nearer you than me.
Alternative would be start collecting the parts you need and build a fresh one that you will know is good.
Good luck raymond

Sixpax, isnt your bike a Plunger models....if not, disregard this ? If a Plunger your motor will be a BA10, a CA10 engine won''t work as it needs engine plates
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

Have you tried SRM? I have no real idea how much it might cost so I'll spit out a number just for fun and you can tell me how wrong I am, one way or the other. US$5K.

Here's another plunger A10 parts donor...

http://www.owensmotorcycles.co.uk/bikes-BSA-A10-Plunger-1953.html

Bu', bu', but, Sixpak already has a pile of engine parts he could rebuild if he wanted to spend the time and effort. No guarantee, at all, that the engine in this bike will be better. It's sold "as is"".

yes indeed, i have some parts...time and effort... yes i will put in it anyway... but my goal is to ride, and next to the build have a chance to ride, the guy who sold me the bike, just faked me, so i have to shorten the time of desperate. Yes id like to have a 650
